Périne Désirée D. KAMTO - Pan African Coordinator

I am a native of Bayangam situated in the Western part of Cameroon and I come from a Catholic Christian family.
I joined the YCS movement in 2001 in the course of my life as a YCSer I have served as a Secretary of Spirituality & Liturgy in my basic group; in YCS of Yaounde; Secretary General of the university JEC in the diocese of Yaounde; national President in charge of the Cameroonian YCS for 3 years and presently I am Pan-African Coordinator.
YCS being a big school of life, it is within it that I have acquired values such as the love, humility, sociability, service and many more. Thus, I thank God as well as my family, my friends, members of YCS, YCS Alumni, and the Episcopal Conference of Cameroon for having helped and supported me always in my progress to be what I am today.
I endeavour to face the challenges in my service to the movement; my objective is to serve with humility and to share with you, all that I have learnt in my continued formation by the movement. In order to make it, I count largely on your supports because it is together, hand in hand, that we shall work for a better YCS, and all the glory is to God.
Finally, let us meditate on this canon NODDINGS's saying a founder of the JEC in Cameroon) who said to us: “YCS is not just to gather the young Christian students but its ultimate mission is to return the Christianity among the young people in learning institution.”

Michael EJEH ADIKWU - Pan African Coordinator

My names are MICHAEL EJEH, born to family of Mr. & Mrs. ADIKWU INEDU who hails from Ichama in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State in Nigeria. I am the last child of a family of nine (9) and a graduate of Microbiology from University of Maiduguri. My childhood friends fondly call me ‘sagacious’, because of the sense of good judgment I exhibited among my peers!
I joined the YCS Movement in 1997 while in Junior Secondary school in Federal Government College Maiduguri. Before graduating from the Senior Secondary School in 2003, I held the office of the sectional treasurer. In the University, while studying Microbiology, I continued in the YCS as a parish based YCSer and in 2005, I was elected as the National Secretary of the Movement during the National Council Meeting of the YCS in Jos, an office I held until 2007.
Few months after my handing over as the National Secretary, precisely on 14 March, 2008, I was appointed as the National Coordinator of YCS Nigeria. On 11 April, 2011 my National Movement presented me as candidate for the post of Coordinator of IYCS Africa, and I was elected.

My membership of the YCS has influenced my life tremendously, challenging me to use every opportunity judiciously to the glory of God and the edification of the Church. Being a member of the Movement, I have understood better what it means to ‘never underestimate the students (NUTS)’; students have great potential and opportunities to bring about change in their milieu and the society. The YCS as a school of life presented to me the fundamentals of Christian living, a sense of critical reasoning, a ‘never- quit’ attitude in face of challenges, and the opportunities to carry out ‘little actions’ that are very potent and impactful. Indeed, the YCS has increased my ‘sagacity’ in all spheres of life.
I am grateful to my friends and family, YCS Nigeria, the Church in Nigeria, Alumni YCSN and IYCS Africa for presenting me to the Most Holy Trinity to use as an ambassador of IYCS Africa for the next four years!
